Create It 3 Ways

Written by:

Hello! I created these three cards for the Create It 3 Ways Instagram hop. This month’s hop theme is autumn/spooky season. Each month we challenge ourselves by choosing our own category to feature across all 3 cards. I chose to feature inked & heat embossed frames on all of my cards.

The first card I created using a Mama Elephant grid window, inked it with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide, and coated it with Wow! clear embossing powder. Then, I went through my scrap drawers and found a bunch of different papers, cut them into 1.25 inch squares and placed them behind the different windows.

Finally, I used glitter cardstock scraps to cut the Picket Fence Studios y’all sentiment and letters from an old alphabet set. I cut more of the same sentiment & letters out of white cardstock to stack behind the glitter paper. I glued it all together and adhered it to a top folding A2 card.

For the second card, I used the Altenew Diamond Frame die cut from white cardstock, inked with Distress Oxide ink, and heat embossed with Wow! clear embossing powder. On the card front, I used some red, orange, and yellow Distress Oxide inks to blend a background for the frame.

I cut the leaves from the Honey Bee Stamps lovely layers fall foliage set out of white cardstock and inked with various distress oxide inks. I stacked them with an additional die cut for added dimension, added a reverse-foiled sentiment from Pink Fresh Studio, and adhered it all to a top-folding A2 card.

For the final card, I used Pink Fresh Studio Fall Foliage Layering Stencil set & die, along with various Pink Fresh inks to color the leaves. I created the frame from white cardstock cut with an old, discontinued Pretty Frames 2 die set from Pinkfresh Studio.

I inked and heat embossed the frame the same as the last two cards. I temporarily adhered the frame to the card base, arranged the leaf die cuts, and added the die cut sentiment from the Altenew Versatile Greetings set that I cut from the same glitter cardstock as Card #1. I added some tiny die cut circles as accents for the final touch on this card.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Check out the instagram hop for more great card ideas!
