I created these cards as part of the Sharing Fall Cardmaking Challenge 2 hosted by @thatcraftygolden.

For my two cards this week, I used the Coffee Blend Turnabout bundle from Concord and 9th along with their Nutmeg, Clementine, and Spiced Cider inks. I also used Warm Buff ink from Pink Fresh Studio, embossing ink & powder from Simon Says Stamp, and an Arteza white gel pen to color the heart image.

I started by creating a background using the turnabout stamp, the Altenew Stampwheel, and 3 different inks. I stamped the nutmeg ink once, rotated the top plate of the stampwheel, stamped the nutmeg ink twice to get a darker version, then I rotated again using the spiced cider ink, and finally the warm buff ink on the last rotation of the turnabout. Next, I cut the stamped background almost in half, but on an angle, to create two pieces.
I then cut the coffee cup from white cardstock several times, stamped two of them with the “thanks a latte” sentiment with clear embossing ink, added white embossing powder, and heated it. I did this twice on the two die cuts to get a better embossed sentiment. I stamped the heart image with warm buff ink, added clear embossing ink and then embossing powder, which also served as a mask. I ink blended some clementine ink to color the coffee mug, but didn’t think about the heart image not staying white in the center, so I used the gel pen to cover up the orange in that area. I was definitely too far into this project to start over!

For the first card, I also created a card panel by using the Fringe 3D embossing folder from Altenew and ink blended nutmeg ink over the panel to enhance the embossing. I adhered one of the pieces of the background to the top of the card and added clear embossing ink & powder to the whole coffee cup to give it a nice shine. I stacked two more coffee cups underneath it to give it dimension and adhered it to the card panel and attached that panel to a white card base to complete my card.

For the second card, I used the nutmeg ink direct to paper to color some scrap cardstock, cut a 1/4″ strip of that paper, and did the same with the warm buff ink, cutting a 1/8″ strip. I adhered the background to the bottom front of a white card panel and trimmed the background with the thin colored strips. I stacked two more white die cuts behind the coffee cup and attached that towards the top center of the card panel and adhered it to another white card base to complete card #2.
