Getting in the Christmas Spirit

Written by:

Happy Monday, friends!

Today I am sharing a Christmas card I created using a few of my favorite techniques – die cutting, stamping, and heat embossing.

The stamp set I used is an older one from Concord and 9th called “Peace on Earth”. I heat embossed the large sentiment using versamark ink and SimonSaysStamp gold embossing powder onto red textured cardstock from my stash.

To create the flowers, I stamped them first with PinkFreshStudio Candy Apple ink, then added some detail using Copic Markers. I stamped the center of the flowers with Versamark ink and heat embossed using the same embossing powder as I used on the sentiment. Next, I die cut the colored flowers, cut two additional sets of white flowers, and layered them together with Nuvo Liquid Glue to give some stability. Finally, I die cut more flowers from Concord and 9th Avocado cardstock and attached them to the back of the flower with a foam small foam square in between.

To assemble the card, I added a white frame die cut with the Spellbinders Scrolled Punch & Pierce Plate to the front of the red card panel using liquid glue. I then placed the flowers around the sentiment, adhered them with liquid glue, and added the whole panel to a white card base. I opted not to add any gems or pearls to this card, because I love the way the red shows through the punched holes in the front of the frame, and I didn’t want to distract from that.

I will have a few more Christmas cards in the coming days. Thanks for stopping by!
